Księgarnia Akademicka was established in 1992 and operates in the academic community of Kraków as a publisher and academic bookshop. The company is located at św. Anny 6 and also operates an internet bookshop. The range of books which are sold in the bookshop represent the publishing mosaic of the Jagiellonian University (inter alia Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, Towarzystwo Autorów i Wydawców Prac Naukowych Universitas, Zakład Wydawniczy Nomos, Musica Iagellonica, Historia Iagellonica, Societas Vistulana, Collegium Columbinum and the publications of the particular departments and institutes of the university), and it also includes interesting items offered at the Polish market of academic books.

Księgarnia Akademicka has a broad network of contacts which facilitate the purveyance of items which are not available in other bookshops in Kraków and in Poland. We collaborate both with the greatest wholesalers in Poland and above all directly with various publishers, institutions, non-governmental organisations, museums, libraries and editorial committees of periodicals. Our strong point is the ability to order titles which are difficult to get on behalf of our customers, on condition that the said titles are still available.

As a bookshop located at the heart of the Jagiellonian University we furnish books above all to research workers and students. The latter may receive a 10% discount applicable to the whole range of products in our bookshop upon presenting a valid document which confirms their status of students. The same discount is available to all customers when they purchase our books.

Apart from selling books at our św. Anny 6 bookshop, we also sell selected titles at academic conferences, scholarly sessions, cultural events and meetings with authors. We collaborate eagerly with the organisers of such events and we also extend our patronage to various academic initiatives during which the participants may take advantage of special discounts in the bookstore. All items that are currently offered by us may be ordered by traditional mail, by e-mail or through the internet bookshop. We ship books by mail to our customers in Poland and beyond; we supply the collections of books of libraries and museums. We also sell electronic products: multimedia CDs, musical recordings and electronic scholarly books.
